High Temperature Resistance of Thermal Barrier Coating on Magnesium Alloy Surface

Thermal barrier coatings were prepared on magnesium alloy substrate by plasma spraying, and thermal shock test, test arc wind tunnel carried out. The failure mode, microstructure phase transition of coating after analyzed SEM XRD change temperature rise rate during is means measurement. analysis results show that the structure sprayed surface consistent before shock, no occurs spraying shock. mainly due to different expansion coefficients, which aggravates stress between layers, leads lower bonding strength coating, finally spalling. Spraying has a good heat insulation effect, heating significantly reduced. back VW75 matrix sample 0.8 °C/s. After coated reduced 0.39 °C/s, about 50%. adhesion good, there bulge or falling off, shows can meet future service working environment requirements, calculation conductivity have corresponding relationship with in test.
